A couple years ago, I came across an article about substances that can induce cancer in deodorants. I was really shocked by what’s in it, particularly when I realized that I use deodorant every day and that since I was maybe 10 or 11 years old.
In a nutshell…
It turned out that many deodorants contain types of aluminum. Aluminum is the component that ensures that we do not transpire. That is then absorbed by the glands. And if you actually think about it, you want to sweat, because you also dispose of waste.
In addition, it turned out that it contains parabens (yes, that is in many products) and parabens acts in your body as the hormone estrogen. And that (so not the estrogen itself, but that ingredient that resembles it in your body) is then a risk.
Though recently different sources have mixed opinions if these ingredients can actually cause cancer.Well, better safe than sorry. I don’t want it in my body But always double and even triple check yourself. Therefore, several years ago I bought a deodorant from an eco shop. That brand always lasts me a long time.
Recently I got this one in the picture above. This is an organic deodorant in a tin can, it also has more benefits, it’s less polluting material and better for my body. I also think these work better than that of the first store. When using the other one I always had the feeling that I had to build it up and I still took a small spray can with me on guaranteed sweat days.
Curious about the ingredients?
